As many of you know, SALI currently is showing at Art Bank!!
The Art Bank will be extending its hours during the Super Bowl celebrations.   The hours will match those of the Turf Pavilion.  (If you haven't already heard of Turf, the following link is very informative: http://www.idadaartpavilion.com/)  The grand opening of Turf will be January 14th, and it will remain open through the Super Bowl.  Hours are still being nailed down, but discussion indicated it will be 10AM to 7PM and closed on Mondays, similar to classical gallery hours.  The Art Bank would accordingly change hours to match those of the Turf Pavilion, because visitors would also be directed to other art sites in the near-downtown, and we need to take advantage of that traffic. Art Bank is looking for many volunteers during that time, so please sign up with Dan or inform Gretchen.  We would like all Volunteers to visit the Indianapolis Host Committee's site at www.IndianapolisSuperBowl.com , to take the Know Before You Go certification quiz at http://www.superservicetraining.com/.
 
It's very easy; the Art Bank gets points for how many Super Hosts we have attached to us; and you get a nifty certificate and pin.  In other words: Free souvenirs! Take the Quiz! Represent the Art Bank!  This is a great opportunity to represent SALI as well.

Call For Artists
   The exhibit at the Art Bank was such a great success with wonderful reviews. We are going to do it again. This time , the exhibit will hang for two months. ( Remember the Super Bowl is the first Sunday of February) The cost per piece is $30.00 for the two months. 
  The first  twenty SALI Member  artists to  contact me at gteneyckhunt@aol.com will be hung. All work must be delivered to the Art Bank   on Jan. 4, 1:00- 3:00 PM .If you have any questions  you may contact me at 317-445-2926  All checks  should be made out to SALI or Southside Art League .
    The Art Bank is on the cultural tour and  draws a lot of  tourist traffic. Don't miss out on this opportunity. Gretchen
 
ATTENTION:  ALL SALI MEMBERS
 
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.      It is time again to hang paintings at the Senior Center Gallery (new name "The Social of Greenwood)".     Please bring your paintings to the 550 Polk St. location  on Wednesday, Dec. 28th at 10:00 a.m.    Also, if you have paintings currently hanging, you will need to pick them up.    The paintings will hang January and February and will be changed out again for March/April.     The "Social" gallery is a very nice venue and we can hang about 50 paintings. 
I will be out of town most of January and February but will return prior to March.   Currently you may bring about 3 or 4 paintings.   Be sure to tell you friends and neighbors about the Gallery and bring them over to view the great selections painted by some of Indiana's finest artists.   
 
Remember also that giving "ART" for Christmas  is a wonderful gift.   Art is a gift that just keeps on giving and brings many hours of viewing pleasure.
